VIP Savanna Tour

Join our Ambassador team for an informative and exciting journey through our Leanne B. Roberts African Savanna. You’ll stroll the pathways, learn about our animals and conservation efforts, and get to feed a giraffe along the way! Includes use of a VIP lanyard which will identify you as a VIP, and entitles you to discounts on food, beverages, and gift shop items. Also can be used for a FREE carousel ride! (restrictions apply).

This is a walking tour that is led by a guide. Click below to purchase tickets. This tour is RAIN OR SHINE, so you can also purchase tour tickets at the ticketing windows when you arrive, however, space is not guaranteed if you do. If you have mobility needs, electric carts/wheeled chairs are allowed or can be rented at the gift shop. It will take approximately one hour to complete. Feeding is dependent upon giraffe participation, but rarely is affected. Tour capacity is limited to 12 guests.

•  Tours are available at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm every day of the week. Please meet at the “Guided Tours Start Here” sign, just past the gatehouse no later than 5 minutes before your tour start time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate.
• General Admission tickets are NOT included in the price of the VIP Savanna Tour tickets, and must be purchased separately

Senior Mornings Guided Tour

Enjoy a guided walking tour with almost the whole Zoo to yourself. Watch the animals that are active early in the day with a docent guide to answer your questions and offer fascinating insights into animal behavior. For guests 65 year and older.

BikeAbouts

Pedal your way through the Zoo during these 60-minute riding tours! Our knowledgeable staff will be
your guide as they share fun animal facts and conservation stories.

• Sunday June 15, 2025 – 8:30 am (Fathers Day)

Join us for extra-special BikeAbouts only on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, which will focus on what maternal and paternal care look like throughout the animal kingdom. And as an extra special treat after your 60-minute ride, you will get to meet our family of giraffes which includes a mother and her two daughters, and get the opportunity to feed them. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLIER STARTING TIME FOR THESE TWO SPECIAL BIKEABOUTS.

Pre-registration is required and participants must provide their own bikes and bike locks. No strollers or scooters, please. All bikes need to be outside the zoo by 10:00 am when we open to the general public.

Please have locks with you, to secure your bike(s) to our bike rack, if you plan to re-enter the zoo for the day. Any age peddlers who are riding their own bikes are required to purchase a full ticket. Only young children who are riding in a child’s seat or trailer (piggy-backing), qualify for free admission.

Proof of BikeAbout required for discount. Parking is included.

To access BikeAbout tickets, first click on the orange button below. If you are a SF Zoo member, click on “Member Tickets” in the pop-up window, sign in and proceed.  If you are NOT a member, scroll over the  “Programs” tab in the pop-up window and select VIP Guided Tours from the drop-down menu.  Proof of membership is required to redeem a member event ticket.
