Bear Care Group

The San Francisco Zoo is actively involved in The Bear Care Group; a non-profit group dedicated to the continued organization of international bear husbandry conferences, programs, publications and resources for bear caregivers at sanctuaries, rehabilitation facilities and zoos. Its mission is to create and enhance communication, cooperation and education among international bear care professionals by organizing bear care programs, publications and resources focused on advancing and sharing information on bear behavior, husbandry, enrichment, training, veterinary care and other topics to further global bear welfare and conservation efforts.
